Quantum Algorithmic Engineering With Photonic I...

Integrated quantum photonics show monolithic waveguide chips to be a promising platform for realizing the next generation quantum optical circuits. This book proposes the implementation of Quantum PageRank, the quantum version of famous Google PageRank, on a photonic waveguide lattice. The book uses the paradigm of Quantum Stochastic Walk for the Quantum PageRank problem. The quantum version of Facebook Graph Search is modeled as a multidimensional quantum search used in generating Quantum PageRank. The book uses the metric Kolmogorov Complexity to detect the eavesdropping in BB84 Quantum Cryptography protocol. The Kolmogorov Complexity is used as an added layer of security on the quantum channel.

Obfuscated TCP

High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! Obfuscated TCP is a transport layer protocol which implements opportunistic encryption over TCP. It is designed to prevent mass wiretapping and malicious corruption of TCP traffic on the internet, with lower implementation cost and complexity than TLS. ObsTCP was created by Adam Langley, a former Maths and Computing student and systems administrator at Imperial College London, currently an employee of Google in California. The concept of obfuscating TCP communications using opportunistic encryption evolved through several iterations. The experimental iterations of ObsTCP used TCP options in 'SYN' packets to advertise support for ObsTCP, the server responding with a public key in the 'SYNACK'. An IETF draft protocol was first published in July 2008. Packets were encrypted with Salsa20/8, and signed packets with MD5 checksums.

Explicit and Implicit Parallel Functional Progr...
68,00 € *
ggf. zzgl. Versand

This book investigates the relation between the two conflicting goals of explicitness and abstraction, for the implementation of parallel functional languages and skeletons. The first part describes the implementation of the parallel Haskell extension Eden in layers of increasing abstraction. The author derives a minimal monadic sublanguage for elementary parallel coordination, and discusses a generic runtime system for parallel computations, major parts of which are Haskell. The second main part concentrates on parallel skeletons - abstract algorithmic patterns with parallel implementation. Exemplarily, the author discusses implementations for data parallel skeletons (map, map-reduce, Google-MapReduce), and for topology skeletons, which describe interaction and communication in regularly structured process networks. The book is an in-depth study of parallel functional programming, both for researchers interested in the first part, and for professionals seeking new impulses for practical development of parallel programs. It shows that functional languages provide a suitable abstraction level to reason about parallel programming and to circumvent its complexity.

The Responsibilities of Online Service Providers
136,88 € *

This volume focuses on the responsibilities of online service providers (OSPs) in contemporary societies. It examines the complexity and global dimensions of the rapidly evolving and serious challenges posed by the exponential development of Internet services and resources. It looks at the major actors - such as Facebook, Google, Twitter, and Yahoo! - and their significant influence on the informational environment and users' interactions within it, as well as the responsibilities and liabilities such influence entails. It discusses the position of OSPs as information gatekeepers and how they have gone from offering connecting and information-sharing services to paying members to providing open, free infrastructure and applications that facilitate digital expression and the communication of information. The book seeks consensus on the principles that should shape OSPs' responsibilities and practices, taking into account business ethics and policies. Finally, it discusses the rights of users and international regulations that are in place or currently lacking.
